I spent the night at my best friend’s house and had a horrible, vivid nightmare about her step-dad attacking and raping me. I remember waking up and thinking it was real so I sprung up and locked the door before a “second” attack could occur.

A couple months later she confessed that he had raped her multiple times (and “he thinks you’re hot”).

“Maggie, you have to wake up!”

January 25, 2016

This is my friends story. She was sleeping in on Halloween morning. She was having a vivid dream that she was having an out of body experience. Floating above herself, she was trying everything to wake herself up. She was screaming (we’ll say Maggie) MAGGIE WAKE UP! You have to wake up right now, you have to buy the kids Halloween candy.

Getting up early, especially on a weekend morning, was extremely out of character for Maggie. She woke up in a panicked sweat, throws on some clothes and leaves in a hurry because for some reason, getting Halloween candy is super fucking important right now.

Once she comes back home, she opens the door and is hit immediately by the strong scent of gas. Her roommate accidentally left the gas stove on and gas had filled the entire house. She believes, as do I, in some unconscious, last-ditch effort to save herself, she had this out of body dream to wake herself and leave the house immediately.

She Dead.

January 25, 2016

I had a patient one night who was mentally disabled. She was a young, dark-skinned black woman with these huge eyes. I don’t know if she always looked like that or if she was just genuinely spooked, but they were open wide. The first thing she said to me when I walked in the room was “She dead. That lady dead”, nodding her head at the woman in the next bed. The woman in the next bed had apparently been dealing with this all day and was fed up. “I’m not dead!”, she yelled. I tried to calm her down, to no avail. The day shift nurse told me she’d been doing that all day. I felt so bad for her roomate. I considered trying to transfer her, but that would just put someone else in the room to put up with it. She did this all night. She would even put her call light on to tell me her roommate was dead.

So this was creepy on its own, but guess who died the next day? It wasn’t an expected death either. I don’t believe in the supernatural, but damn, that was quite a coincidence.

“hey mom…”

October 15, 2015

I’ve been a person who never was sure what to believe in when it related to ghosts, but my experience has boggled my mind. I was around 12 or so and my cousin, my brother, and I were all hangin out in our family room watching movies. (Crudely drawn layout of house).

It was like midnight and my mom had been in bed for a few hours. I looked up and saw (at least what I thought was)my mom walk past the entryway to the family room, from the living room to the kitchen. My brother even called out “hey mom…”. No response, she just walked right past without acknowledging us and into the kitchen, and out of view. She was wearing a long, flowing, white-ish nightgown. Keep in mind the entire house is pitch black except for the light of the TV. A couple seconds later, we were wondering what was going on so we got up and glanced in the kitchen. Nothing, just darkness. We started freaking out and all three ran down the hallway, through the living room, and burst into her room. She was lying in bed passed out asleep.

We woke her up and asked if she was just in the kitchen. She leaned up to figure out what was happening and she was wearing blue pajamas-NOT wearing a white nightgown. We freaked out. I didn’t know what to think. There’s a door that connects the kitchen to her room, but that door was always wedged shut and would make a loud creaking/scraping noise once it was shoved open. No one used that door.

We were up and heading towards her room in a matter of seconds. She wouldn’t have had time to walk past, shove open and close that door, and change her clothes. We have no idea who or what we saw walk past that kitchen that night. I would have convinced myself I was seeing things, but my brother CALLED her name– HE saw it too.

I am not making this up.

It’s been over 10 years, I am 24 years old and the thought STILL gives me weird goosebumps and for some reason I start to tear up when I think too much about it. I’m an intellectual and rational person, but if you ask me if I believe in ghosts, I can’t comfortably say “no”.

Man, You’re Fast.

August 17, 2015

Back in 2003 while stationed in Portsmouth, VA I was going through a divorce and as such, had moved back into the barracks. Reeling from the stress of the divorce, I had trouble sleeping and would go for a run at all hours. One such morning around 4:00AM I took off for quick 5 miler. Portsmouth has some pretty dodgy areas and my run took me straight through one of them. As I got to the top of a bridge I saw someone standing on the side of the road. It was odd but not completely unheard of that I would see a non-runner standing somewhere other than a bus stop. Anyhow, he watched me the entire time I ran closer to him and as I got closer he turned his back to me but continued to watch me over his shoulder. Since I tend to become more friendly in awkward situations I said hi as I ran past him but I picked up my pace.

After a couple minutes I had pretty much forgotten about the encounter. As I continued my run there was a bridge that went over an interstate. After I crossed the bridge, I about shit myself as I saw the same guy standing on the side of the road again. No cars passed me and there was no way he could have gotten from where we first met to here in that amount of time without driving past me. Again, being nervous all I could say, was “Man, you’re fast.” I’m pretty sure I broke personal speed records after that.

White Horse.

August 17, 2015

This happened to my friends, but its quite creepy.

In 2009 a friend of mine was coming home from a different city at 11pm with his father and 2-3 kms before entering the city, they suddenly saw a white horse standing in the middle of road. He tried to save the horse and severed the car into the ditch below road. As they got out of car, there was no horse to be seen anywhere. He told me this the next day and we found it creepy.

Fast forward to 2015, some other friends of mine were coming home from a different city at 1:30am and doing 140km/hr. They reach the same place near the city border and suddenly see the same white horse standing in the middle of the road. Driver weighed in his options and decided its just best not try to turn. He hit brakes hard and the car just went straight through the horse, skidding. They came to a stop and realised it was a ghost horse or something and ran home. Told me about this the next day we talked.

Weird thing is, either of these friends never met each other and there is 6 years difference between both occurrences.

Wake Up.

August 17, 2015

This almost happened to my sister.

She was at the bar with her girlfriend, who ended up ditching her at the bar for someone else. At this point she is already super drunk, but because she was just ditched by her girlfriend, she decided to take a few more shots. The bartender kicks her out of the bar because she is being a sloppy black out drunk. It’s the dead of winter in MN, and this is before everyone had a cell phone. So she starts to walk, but it’s snowing and it’s icey, and all she has for warmth is a thin coat. She kept falling and landing in the ditch, eventually she just laid there and closed her eyes and started falling asleep. She told me that she was startled awake by someone yelling “WAKE UP”, but she didn’t see anyone around. Almost blackout drunk and covered in snow, she made it the two miles home. She woke up in the entry way of her house, soaking wet. I don’t believe in supernatural stuff really, but she thinks someone was watching out for her.
