Who’s That Man, Mummy?

May 15, 2011

When we moved to our current home (3 1/2 years ago) DS was 3. I was giving him a bath and he said “Who’s that man, mummy?” looking past my shoulder. I said “What man?” and he laughed and said “That man over there”. I obviously couldn’t see anything and we just carried on.

Several months later, maybe even a year, my FIL had been chatting to our neighbors and found out the previous owner had been disabled in some way. He ran himself a bath and got in before checking the temperature…it was scalding hot, he couldn’t get himself back out and his wife came home to find him in the bath unconscious. He went into hospital but never recovered. He died.
