Skeleton Trains

May 14, 2011

When my stepmom was younger, her dad had cancer and she knew he was dying. Apparently, after coming home from work, she walked into the kitchen and standing in the doorway was a man, dark as night, almost like a shadow, holding the hand of a little girl, as white as can be. The next week her dad died and her neice gave birth to a little girl. Since then she solemnly believes in ghosts.

Nothing like that ever happened to me, of course. Except for the recurrent nightmares of skeleton trains going doing the hall outside my bedroom… and later finding out that a railroad used to run through the area, and crossed under where I slept.
